- Don’t Despise Small Beginnings
Often, we don’t know how to start a task. We spin it around in our heads, coming up with a million ideas—but never actually doing any of them. What if I fail? Well, at least you’ll know that idea didn’t work. My friend, the key is to start. Do something—anything. Make a call, gather some information, watch a YouTube clip—just start. Get moving. God can’t move a parked car. As long as you stay still, you’ll remain stuck. Even a plane makes course corrections on its way to its destination, but while it’s moving, it can adjust and reach where it’s meant to go. Once you start, God can guide you to the right people, the right opportunities, and the right direction. You take the first step, and He can direct your path. The key is simple: start moving. Write the first line. Take the first step toward what you desire. Step two will become clear when you’re already on step one. So take that first action today. Get moving, and watch as the next steps unfold before you. I’m cheering you on—you’ve got this.
- Stepping into 2026 with Grace
New year, new zeal? For many, it doesn’t feel that way at all. Life doesn’t suddenly change overnight. It was 2025 last week, and today is 2026 — and for most of us, the world looks much the same. If you’re not feeling a rush of excitement, you’re not alone. The pressure to “start fresh” can feel overwhelming when life is still carrying the same responsibilities, struggles, and unanswered questions. So as we step into this new year, here is a gentle encouragement: draw closer to God . I have found that in His presence are the answers to every situation I face — even the ones that leave me tired, restless, or unsure. God has the answer for everything. No one knows you more intimately or understands your heart more deeply than He does. Instead of striving to change everything about your life — to be better, do more, or become more — consider choosing one simple thing this year: spend more time with Him. One word from God can shift a heart, bring clarity, and change the direction of a life. His words carry power, and He knows exactly how to lead you forward — not one step ahead and two steps back, but steady and sure. God knows how to handle every situation and every person you will encounter. He is gentle, faithful, and wise, and He has all the answers. Even now, He is knocking on the door of your heart, inviting you to let Him in. He wants to help you. He wants to walk with you. Make it your goal this year to draw closer to the One who loves you and cares for you so deeply. You will never regret leaning into His presence. Isaiah 43:18–19 reminds us: “Do not remember the former things, Nor consider the things of old. Behold, I will do something new; Now it shall spring forth—shall you not know it? I will even make a road in the wilderness, and rivers in the desert.” I especially love how it reads in The Passion Translation : Stop dwelling on the past. Don’t even remember these former things. I am doing something brand new, something unheard of. Even now, it sprouts, grows, and matures. Don’t you perceive it? I will make a way in the wilderness and open up flowing streams in the desert. I believe with you that this will be your best year ever. That your unanswered prayer will be answered this year! A Closing Prayer Lord, as we step into this new year, we come just as we are — weary, hopeful, uncertain, and trusting. Help us to release the weight of the past and the pressure to have everything figured out. Draw our hearts closer to You. Speak Your Word into our lives and guide our steps with Your peace. Where the road feels unclear, make a way where there doesn't seem to be one. Where our hearts feel dry, let Your living water flow again. Enlarge our hearts to receive the promises from your Word. We place this year into Your loving hands, trusting You to lead us, one step at a time. In Jesus name Amen. - How to Stay Positive in a Negative World
Is staying positive even possible in today’s world? With constant news about doom and gloom, it can be a challenge to maintain focus and inner peace. One effective way to cultivate positivity is to be mindful of the people who influence your life. Consider the voices you allow in—if you consume negative news or surround yourself with pessimistic family members, coworkers, or friends, it becomes increasingly difficult to nurture a positive mindset. Their negativity can chip away at your spirit and drain your hope. Be intentional about what and who you listen to. Not everyone deserves a voice in your life. Choose trusted resources and individuals who uplift you rather than bring you down. Seek out people who genuinely support you, who have your best interests at heart, and who encourage your personal growth. Surround yourself with voices that align with your goals. It’s essential to move forward toward your aspirations without being weighed down by those who pull you back. Jesus said that the way to life is a narrow road, and few choose it. Why is that? Because it requires dedication and focus—qualities that can be tough to maintain. However, it’s important to recognize that living a life filled with chaos and trauma is also challenging. The choice is yours: which path is better for you? I have made my choice, and I hope you join me on this journey toward a brighter outlook. For more encouragement and support, follow me as we navigate this narrow road together.
- When Life Sinks: A Call for Help
So what is the answer? I would like to take an example from the Bible, specifically from the life of Peter. Peter was a strong-willed and determined man. He didn't want to miss out on anything. When it came to walking on the water, Peter was the only one who wanted to give it a try. Peter started walking fine, but then he got overwhelmed, fear and panic set in. He cried out to Jesus for help. What did Jesus do when he heard Peter's cry? He immediately reached out to Peter; he didn't let him go down. Or say, "See, I'm trying to teach you something." Or "I won't. You got yourself into this mess, now get yourself out." No, the Bible says he immediately reached out his hand and helped him. Then what did Jesus do next? It took Peter back to safety, back to the boat. My friend, when you feel overwhelmed, stuck in a rut, and life is squeezing you, cry out to Jesus, just as Peter did. Jesus will immediately help you and take you to a place of safety. Stop trying to do life in your own strength; all that will happen is you will run out of yourself. Run out of plans, ideas, and resources. Call out to God for help, and He will redirect you and show you how to get back on track and restore your life to normal. God is the answer to every question, even the ones you don't know how to ask. Read the story of Peter in Matthew 14:22-32.
- You Are in Control
You have the power to control your thoughts and decisions. Choose positivity, reject negativity, and embrace your free will. Remember, your mindset shapes your reality!" You may not feel like it, but it's a fact that you are in control. No one can force you to do anything. You have free will, and you choose whether you will or won't do something. No matter how much God wants something for you, it's up to you to decide whether you will do it. You determine whether you will say yes or no. You can change your mind about something and take control of your thoughts. You can control your thinking and refuse to think specific thoughts. You have the power. When a thought enters your mind, decide whether you are going to think that thought or not. Is that thought going to help you or discourage you? If you choose to think the wrong thought, then nobody can be blamed for the path you go on but you. This is a hard and harsh reality, but it's your mind; no one can control it but you. I don't know about you, but I feel I have to take greater care about what I think about, what I let into my thought life. Before you know it, depression and anxious thoughts step in, and I start on a downhill spiral. I'm the only one who can restrict its access to my mind; ultimately, it's my life and my will. I speak to the negative thoughts in the name of Jesus, rebuke them and cast them out, and forbid their entering my mind. I may have to do this several times daily until the thought loses its power over me. I claim the truth from God's Word and speak life over my life and not death. I encourage myself with the promises from God's Word and refuse the lies from the enemy. You become what you think. What are you thinking? Imagine how your life could change if you focused on optimism and gratitude! Each positive thought is a stepping stone toward a brighter reality. Don’t just let life happen to you—actively shape it with your mindset. Challenge yourself today: shift your perspective, reject the negative, and watch how your world transforms. Remember, the power to change your life lies within you!
- Baking Life's Recipe
Baking the perfect cake is easier than you might think. Just follow the instructions carefully! Ensure you include all the ingredients, and don’t skimp on any of them. Stick to the recipe, and you should achieve that beautiful cake showcased on the box. But what happens if you decide to leave out key ingredients, like eggs? You might end up with a cake that doesn’t rise or hold together. Just like with baking, every ingredient is essential for the desired outcome. The same principle applies to our Christian life. We have a guide—the Bible, a spiritual handbook given to us by God to help us navigate our daily lives. It contains not just suggestions, but clear instructions and requirements for living a successful Christian life. This isn’t about trying things out when it feels convenient; it’s about following God’s commands. To experience the life He promises, we must embrace the principles laid out in His Word, no matter how we feel. Take forgiveness, for instance. It’s a command, not a mere suggestion. God doesn’t say, “Try to forgive” or “I understand how hard this is.” No, He instructs us to forgive. Until we let go of our grudges, we limit His ability to help us. If you want to see positive change in your Christian journey, following the Bible fully is crucial. You can’t just pick and choose what parts to follow and then complain when things don’t go as you hoped. If you do, you may find yourself stuck, struggling with the same issues over and over. To truly live out God’s teachings, you need to be a doer of the Word—not just a listener. Apply these instructions to your life, regardless of how you feel in the moment. God wants to assist you, but He won’t change His teachings to fit your preferences. It’s up to you to adapt and embrace these principles, and you’ll be grateful for the transformation that follows. Remember, just as a perfect cake requires all its ingredients in harmony, a fulfilling Christian life demands our wholehearted commitment. Embrace the journey, and watch the desired results unfold! Confession: James 1:22 “I don’t just listen to God’s Word. I do what it says. Otherwise, I’m just fooling myself.”
- How to make good decisions
Wisdom beckons to you on your journey through life. We all face moments of decision, and it’s crucial to make the right choices. But how can we be sure they’re the right ones? Life is a reflection of what you invest—what you put in determines what you get out. This principle applies not only to physical aspects, such as exercise and diet, but also to your mental and spiritual well-being. Consider what you consume mentally through reading, listening, and watching. Spiritually, it revolves around nurturing your soul and, most importantly, how consistently you do so. That’s the key: consistency. Wisdom is reaching out, ready to provide the answers you seek, but you must take action. You need to pursue it. As Matthew 7:7 reminds us, “If you seek, you will find.” God longs to reveal the insights you need. As you dedicate time to Him, He will unveil the necessary understanding in your life. The best compass for making the right choices is peace . Jesus is known as the Prince of Peace. You may experience a sense of inner calm, even when your emotions and thoughts are in turmoil. If you have peace in your heart, trust that God is guiding you. Emotions can be misleading and might cloud your judgment. Learn to listen to your intuition—your spirit. Trust it without second-guessing. Maintain a clear conscience, and a straight path will unfold before you. Jesus assures us, “My sheep know my voice.” Rest in the knowledge that He is leading you. Proclaim with confidence, “I have God’s wisdom. I choose to embrace it and make sound decisions today.”
- Walking Through the Valley: How to Lean on God During Life's Challenges
Trials and tribulations come and go, with some lingering longer than we'd prefer. While some leave us feeling overwhelmed, others can shift the trajectory of our lives. We live in a cursed world, and we cannot escape this reality. However, the reassuring truth is that God is with you in the valley. The important thing is to walk through the valley of darkness without pitching a tent there, embracing labels and feelings of condemnation. Allow God to guide you through; don't let the enemy deceive you into believing this is your permanent state. Remember, it's only a season. Invite God to lead you through this chapter. Seek Him for guidance and wisdom; He will equip you to face each challenge. While it's true that not being troubled and resisting fear is easier said than done, it's vital to remember that we cannot let fear take hold of our hearts. God is greater than the storms you face! He has the power to turn every situation around for your benefit. He asks for your trust and invites you to lean in to hear the gentle whisper of His heart. He will shepherd you through this journey. Life will improve; clarity will come, bringing new insights, renewed hope, and fresh purpose. This isn't the end—it may feel like it, but this time next year, you could very well be on the path to recovery. Let God straighten your winding path and make His intentions clear to you. A new season awaits, and being close to Him will equip you to navigate these turbulent waters and restore calm. Embrace this opportunity to grow and prepare for the blessings that lie ahead. - Breaking Free: Discovering God’s Truth Beyond Our Beliefs
There are two kinds of belief: your truth and God’s truth. Your truth feels profoundly real to you. You believe it with all your heart, shaping your actions through that lens. But is it truly the ultimate truth? Let me illustrate with an example. For many years, because of my abusive past, I was convinced deep down that I wasn’t good enough—not for God, nor anyone else. I viewed myself as inferior, an unworthy person. I genuinely believed this, and why wouldn’t I? For years, I was treated that way, and those messages became ingrained in my identity. Whenever I was asked to contribute at church or participate, I declined. I did not feel worthy to serve God. As a result, my life was filled with misery; I lived in depression and isolation. I prayed and asked God why my life felt so devoid of value. He revealed to me that it was because I was seeing myself through a distorted lens. I was not identifying with His truth, nor with the new creation He made me to be. My personal truth was a lie—a terrible one at that. The enemy kept me in bondage for years! My truth was imprisoning me, weighing me down and making my life a struggle. In contrast, God’s truth liberates us, offering peace, purpose, and hope. His Word tells us that the truth will set us free. My truth was not liberating; it was confining me. God’s truth provides comfort and strength, transforming everything in our lives for the better. Is there a belief you hold that keeps you in bondage? I urge you to reflect on this deeply today, for God’s truth is the path to true freedom and liberation. Scripture references: John 8:31 - 32 John 14:6 Galatians 5:1 2 Timothy 2:15 John 17:17
- Stand Strong: Don't Settle Under Pressure.
Is the pressure on? Are you feeling like wanting to give up, quit, or give in? Just because the pressure is on doesn't mean you must settle or give in to get some temporary relief. You know you need to say no, but people keep nagging and you want to give in and say 'ok fine, yes I'll do it!' But you know in your heart this isn't for you, yet the pressure is getting inside your head. And that's the problem. The pressure is getting to you, inside of you, instead of you getting inside of the pressure. You are allowing your feelings and emotions to succumb to the pressure. So what must you do? Up the spiritual food. What do I mean by that? Get into God's Word more, apply the pressure to the scriptures. Pray and get into His presence and allow Him to strengthen you. Get a fresh Word from heaven, clear directions on how to proceed. 1 Corinthians 10:13 states: No temptation has overtaken you except what is common to mankind. And God is faithful; he will not let you be tempted beyond what you can bear. But when you are tempted, he will also provide a way out so that you can endure it. You cannot be tempted more than you can bear! So, if you feel it's too much, then you know that the limit is near, and the good news is that you're so close to victory, so you can't give up now. The devil knows he has fired his best shot, and now you have to make a decision. Are you going to give in or stand your ground? If you give in, are you prepared to live with the consequences of that decision? Take a few minutes – pause and breathe. This time next week, it could all be history, and you will have the victory. You are so close, you can't quit now! God is with you. He hears you and will make a way for you. Don't settle, you've got this! Scripture References: 1 Corinthians 16:13 Ephesians 6:10-11 1 Peter 5:9 Joshua 1:9 .
- Beyond the fog
Have you ever experienced a foggy day that blankets the world in a silvery haze, softening familiar landscapes? The air is cool and damp, with reduced visibility creating a surreal glow. Trees appear as shadowy silhouettes, their details hidden, while dew glistens faintly on the ground. Sounds are muffled, and the usual hustle of life is muted, giving the day a serene feel. As you walk, you may glimpse silhouettes—passersby, bicycles, or dogs—emerging from the mist. Street lamps emit an ethereal glow, creating warm pools of light in the chilly air. It feels like things suddenly appear because you can't see them clearly until they're close to you. You can't see beyond a metre in front of you. Maybe your life feels like a foggy day. You can't see where you're going or if anything is changing in your world. Everything looks bleak, overcast, and disappointing. My friend, just because you can't see it doesn't mean nothing is happening, that nothing is changing. Your physical eyes may not see anything, but in the spirit realm, the heavenlies are moving. You have to believe that. You must hold fast to the confidence that God is able and is moving on your behalf. Don’t let the fog fool you. The promise is still there. Don't let the circumstances move you and steal your faith and confidence. God is on your side. Soon, the fog will disappear and you will see clearly again. The angles are working on your behalf. Continue to pray and confess God's Word over your situation, and God will continue to work. Then suddenly the fog will lift and you will see the victory you have been standing for! Scripture Reference: Psalm 23 Psalm 130 Ephesians 3:20 Romans 4:17 1 John 5:14-15
